This award celebrates significant photographers by offering them a platform to showcase their work in Greece. It also fosters a connection between audiences in Thessaly, Larissa, and across Greece with leading photographic projects and international artists. The goal is for the winning and shortlisted photographs to be exhibited within the Region of Thessaly and beyond, bringing remarkable photography to a wider public. <\/p>

The main selection criteria are: artistic originality in conception and\/or execution, relevance to the theme of each cycle, the narrative and semantic flow and the coherence of the photographs with each other so as to create a unified and coherent series, technical excellence, modernity, photographic style, and most importantly, the emotional impact and reflection on the theme of each Thematic Cycle that the images and the entire photographic series communicate.<\/p>

It is recommended and expected of participating photographers to approach each theme with a broad mind and creativity. The theme of the cycle proposed each time is intended to be a starting point and not a restrictive condition, and is open to any interpretation and any literal or allegorical approach. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Turning Point <\/strong>is the pivotal moment of gradual or drastic and definitive change, the moment of transition from one state to another, the transformation, whether on a personal, socio-political or geographical level, the milestone after which the world can no longer return to its previous state.
Turning Point<\/strong> is the title of the Thematic Cycle of the TAKIS TLOUPAS AWARDS for 2025, the first year of the competition, the conceptual framework that defines the approach based on which those who wish to participate are invited to move.
We invite photographers to explore situations in which a transition or imminent change is observed – emotional, historical, political, spatial or simply visual -, at the very moment when a crucial decision is made or an identity is reshaped.
We are looking for works that capture the tension and this change of direction, not simply as a consequence, but as a charged conjuncture where different outcomes can coexist. The Turning Point<\/strong> can occur in a single moment, or have a duration. But it always marks the interruption of a course or a turn that gives rise to something new, possibly innovative, uncertain or irreversible.
